Accelerated Reader
What is Accelerated Reader?
Accelerated Reader is a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his/her own level and reads it at his/her own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz on the computer. (Passing the quiz is an indication that your child understood what was read.) Accelerated Reader gives children and teachers feedback based on the quiz results, which the teacher then uses to help your child set goals and direct ongoing reading practice.
How does myON connect to Accelerated Reader?
myON by Renaissance® offers unlimited access to a digital library. Even when you are not in school you can still access your accelerated reader account and continue to embed your skills, engage in reading and achieve on your quizzes. myON gives you access to hundreds of digital texts with audio support. myON works on most mobile devices with a Wi-Fi connection.

We welcome all of our pupils to use the library as often as possible. We would like our children from Nursery, Reception, Years 1, 2 and 3 to bring along an adult to help them enjoy the library fully.
Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 can come to the library on their own but they need to make sure their parents know they are planning on visiting the library after school.
